What we wear

The Bible says to put on the garment of praise. Praise is more than just an act... It is a garment, something to wear. True praise will break strongholds over your life. But you must wear it despite what circumstance you are in.

Paul and Silas were imprisoned for preaching the gospel but in that circumstance, they knew that praise was the answer to their problem. Will you still have that song of praise during a midnight hour even though you may be imprisoned by a circumstance of this world? Paul and Silas did, and because of it, they were freed. Jingos indeed! YOUR praise will free you also!

BUT! Not only did it free Paul and Silas, the scripture tells us that others heard them. And, because Paul and Silas had prayed and received. . . everyone's bands were loosed. (See verses in Acts 16 below)

My praise frees those around me who are not praising? How can it be? In Acts, it states that the prisoners were listening, not participating. I don't know for sure - to our world that is twisted thinking because there may not be a scientific, worldy answer. But, because I believe in our most powerful God, it makes sense to me.

So, a twisted thinker, is who I am. I am: A jingo on a mission...

In Acts 16: (taken from a great site for your favorites: Biblegateway.com - New King James Version)
25 But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed. 27 And the keeper of the prison, awaking from sleep and seeing the prison doors open, supposing the prisoners had fled, drew his sword and was about to kill himself. 28 But Paul called with a loud voice, saying, “Do yourself no harm, for we are all here.” 29 Then he called for a light, ran in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” 32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. 33 And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized. 34 Now when he had brought them into his house, he set food before them; and he rejoiced, having believed in God with all his household.
